- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
- 500g minced beef
- 50g chopped spinach
- 1 teaspoon dried mixed herbs
- 50g fresh breadcrumbs
- 1 medium free-range egg, beaten
- Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper (optional)
- Tomato sauce (find our recipe here) and pasta, to serve
Heat half of the olive oil in a large, deep-sided frying pan. Add the onion and garlic and cook for 5 minutes until soft and golden. Transfer to a large bowl and allow to cool.
Add the beef, chopped spinach, herbs, breadcrumbs, beaten egg and seasoning to the bowl and stir well, to combine. Using your hands, roll the mixture into 24 even-sized balls.
Heat the remaining oil in the frying pan over a medium heat and cook the meatballs for about 8-10 minutes, turning every couple of minutes.
Serve with Tomato sauce (recipe here) and your favourite pasta.
Have you tried?

Our mini meatballs are made with only the finest British beef mince, and have a tender, melt-in-the-mouth texture, which is perfect for little ones who are learning to chew. These flavour-packed meatballs are served on short spaghetti, so they're easy to eat, with a tasty tomato sauce. This is Hillary's eldest son Monty's absolute favourite meal. He has been known to demolish a plateful in minutes and was very specific about the recipe!
