The Hunt for Healthy Children's Food
Some of you may have watched the Panorama investigation about food and nutrition for children under five. It's great to see the media putting their weight behind an issue which is so important. The show highlighted the difficulties parents can face when looking for the right foods for their young children and the fact that, unfortunately, many children’s food brands are using high levels of salt and sugar.
At Little Dish we only use 100% natural ingredients and never add salt or sugar to any of our recipes. Never have, never will. As a mother of 2 young children I understand the challenges of cooking fresh, nutritious meals day in and day out, and that’s why we started Little Dish – to give busy parents a truly healthy alternative to home cooking on those nights when there is no time.
Some of the food brands mentioned in the coverage have responded that they add salt and sugar to their products in an effort to appease fussy eaters. At Little Dish we believe toddlers and young children don’t need any added salt or sugar in their food, and in fact, too much salt and sugar at such an early age can lead to unhealthy eating habits later in life. We use the best natural ingredients we can find, as well as a wide range of herbs and spices to ensure Little Dish meals are tasty and delicious for your children.
We welcome your thoughts and comments on this important topic of children’s nutrition and anything we can be doing better to support you in your effort to feed your children fresh, healthy food.
